Garrett County, Maryland is home to eight incorporated small towns, each of which offer a variety of attractions, small businesses and beautiful scenery. The town of Accident is home to the award-winning FireFly Farms Creamery & Market, cider tastings at Branch Bender Cidery, Deep Creek Lavender Farm, a 7-acre seasonal corn maze at Cove Run Farms, a scenic overlook offering stunning views year-round, the Accident Town Trail, hiking and mountain biking on the Margraff Trail System and the oldest standing structure in Garrett County, the Drane House and more.  Learn more about the town of Accident. 

The town of Deer Park is home to The Deer Park Inn which offers dining by a French-born chef and guest accommodations in the Pennington Cottage, a Victorian Mansion listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Deer Park also hosts two barn quilts on the Garrett County Barn Quilt Trail and the town also serves as the home base for Flying Scot, Inc., who has manufactured nationally recognized sailboats for over 60 years. The town of Friendsville is most well-known for their world-class whitewater rafting and kayaking on the Youghiogheny River, but Friendsville is also home to hiking and fishing on the scenic Kendall Trail, Stillwater Haven a stunning vacation rental home, Riverside Community Park, which hosts the Garrett County Celtic Festival each June, All Earth Eco Tours who offers kayaking, hiking, snowshoeing and photography tours, Schoolhouse Earth who offers shopping and a small petting zoo and Deep Creek Cellars, the only winery in Garrett County.  Learn more about Friendsville. 

The Town of Grantsville is home to the Casselman River Bridge State Park and Spruce Forest Artisan Village, both of which are located along the Historic National Road. Grantsville is also home to unique shopping and dining options, Savage River State Forest, New Germany State Park, and a variety of scenic overlooks including Monroe Run Overlook and Meadow Mountain Overlook.  Learn more about Grantsville 

Take a scenic walk along the north branch of the Potomac River on the Kitzmiller River Walk or take in the beauty and quiet of the Kitzmiller botanical garden. Kitzmiller's Wolf Den Run State Park is Garrett County's newest park offering brook trout streams, hiking, biking and off-road vehicle (ORV) trails.  Learn more about Kitzmiller

The town of Loch Lynn Heights offers three soccer fields, one softball field, a paved walking path around the town's athletic fields. North of the fields, you'll find the Loch Lynn Heights Wetlands Trail, a 1 mile boardwalk and gravel walking trail through wetlands surrounding the Little Youghiogheny River.  Learn more about Loch Lynn Heights

The town of Mountain Lake Park, is a historic district featuring Victorian architectural style homes with walking tour maps available at Town Hall. Mountain Lake Park Trolley tours are available on special dates. Every July, Mountain Lake Park hosts the Victorian Chautauqua Festival or view historic memorabilia at the town's museum. At Simon Pearce Factory Outlet and Glassblowing, watch glassblowers create and purchase pieces in their retail store. Oakland, the County seat, is well known for their varied dining establishments along with their bevy of shopping options including the Garrett County Arts Council's The Gallery Shop which features local artwork or stop by Oakland's Mountain Fresh Farmers Markets, which are held year-round. Oakland is also home to the B&O Museum and Train Station which features a steam engine train, the Garrett County Historical Society and Garrett County Transportation Museum. Oakland offers several trails including the Fort Alice Trails along the Youghiogheny River and parks including  Broadford Lake Park which offers a lake and beach and Swallow Falls State Park and Herrington Manor State Park.  Learn more about Oakland
